The Australorps.

A few weeks ago I happened to be working on the property of a small farm and spotted a flock of these unusual and beautiful birds. It turned out that they belonged to a homeschooling family who were very nice and we bought three of them. They're called Australorps because they are of the Orpington breed and originated in Australia. This breed holds the worlds record for the most eggs layed in a year with a hen that layed 364 eggs in 365 days. Compared to our other hens they seem really big but the bottom picture shows the biggest chicken of them all.

Very interesting birds. That guy in front of the chickens is no chicken though. Isn't he the one that drove an 18 wheeler at only 20 years old through ice and snow! I spec it could be a kin of Frank Perdue with them birds and all.
So are they chickens?
yep.
