Hi!

I just want to ask for continued prayer for my parents. They are missing my brother so much. It has been 9 weeks but the pain is still very much there. My Mom wakes up every morning so sad. They know and will tell everyone they can that God is great and that he has blessed them so much. But the fact that Jacob is not there for them to check on and to see his smile is almost unbearable. Thanks for everything and i hope everyone is doing great! Love, Dawn p.s. Is Jenni expecting? I noticed on the Happy Birthday post that you all signed "new baby" and i was just wondering.

Yes, Jenni is expecting. She had her first sonogram yesterday and everything looks good so far (she is about 8 weeks). She was really nervous about this first sonogram as this is when she found out the bad news last time.

We will be asking prayer for your parents in church again. Only God can bring someone through a thing like this. Thanks for the update.

Thanks for keeping us in your prayers. And CONGRATS on the baby. We will be praying that God blesses you all and this new baby. What a miracle babies are! Love, Dawn

Dear Dawn, I am so burdened for your family. They are such good people.
If there is anything I can do please give me a call. I am keeping them in my prayers. Is your Mom getting out of the house other than with you? That is the best thing for you to encourage her to do. Is she going to church? They really need to keep going to grief counseling. I know Hospice of the Rapidan (who I worked for) has some wonderful people for that. They would meet other people going through loss of loved ones also which is supposed to be comforting.
If your Mom is very depressed you may need to get someone from Hospice to come to their home to talk to them. It really can't be you, it takes a professional to know where they are at in their grief process and how to help them move ahead.
Love, Melanie

Hi Melanie, Thanks for your concern. My Parents are going to church on Sundays and Wed and crave to hear God's word. He is the main comfort to them. My Mom is also going to the grief classes at the Hospice of Rapidan. SHe missed the week that involved talking about the day your loved one passed because that was too hard. But she goes for her last class on Tues. It has helped a little but she is the only one whom has lost a child so she doesn't feel she can relate to them very much. She is getting out of the house some but not a great deal. They are both trying really hard and there trust in God is tremendous. I try to do all i can to help but i too find myself hurting and have a hard time comforting when i sometimes wonder "why Jacob?". Just please keep them in your prayers and my family and my brother Shawn as well. This has been obviously life changing and none of us were ready for this change. We know Jacob is in perfect peace and is whole and perfect now but we miss him. Thanks! Dawn
