A Little Bird Story

This incident took place last Monday the day after Easter. We had just come out of the Hillsville Diner and we all spied this little baby bird in distress. It happily hopped on Amys finger. It didn't look injured and looking up at the building we were in front of we couldn't see a nest anywhere. After enjoying the closeup and cuteness of Gods creation we started hearing birds across the street making alot of noise. We were delighted to know where it belonged. So Amy gently cradling the found baby and the rest of us following paraded across the street. She perched the little bird on a park bench near the bird commotion. The mother bird immediately flew down and sat right beside it and even fed it something. Then we watched as it had a practice fly with its Mom. We all were oohing and ahhing, it was a beautiful moment! We were having such warm feelings of our good deed. Then before our eyes the little bird flew right into a car driving down the street. Pop ran out into the street and picked it up, the little thing was alive but looked pitiful. It was decided to set the little bird in a big sidewalk flower pot and hopefully the mother would tend to it. Amy lamented to take it and try to help it but knew that the mother bird would know what to do better than us. So that is our Easter bird Story!! Sorry it has a sad ending!!

This is a cool picture. We'll have to try this place out when we get up there. Hopefully that will be sometime soon, but right now I can't get any time off except for weekends and gas is so high :(

I meant to put the above comment on the other post with the picture of the Hillsville Diner, and not on this one. This is such a sad story. Do you have a name for the little bird? Maybe I could name one of the new chicks after it.

WE didn't have time to name it. The relationship about only about 10 minutes long!
