This little one was born sometime early this morning. So far, mother and baby seem to be doing just fine!

Big surprise today to come home and find 10 (yes I said TEN) more baby chicks in the backyard!!! I spent the evening converting Duchess' doghouse into a second safehouse for this new family. The hen in the picture with the baby is also sitting on another egg and there is another hen on two more eggs in Ransom's old doghouse. I hope they all make it, but we are going to be up to our eyeballs in chickens pretty soon if this keeps up... They are so cute and round and fuzzy!
